Providing Courteous 24-Hour Skilled Nursing and Sophisticated Rehabilitative Services

Thank you for taking time in your busy day to read my letter. Recently I was a patient in your nursing home rehabilitation center and there are some things I would like to bring to your attention.
When I first arrived from Highline Hospital to your facility, I was confused and very much afraid not knowing where I was and why I was there. After a few days I pretty much got my bearings and was made very comfortable by your staff. It impressed me that every department head from the laundry to the Admin office came to me and introduced themselves and asked if there was anything they could do for me. I am not used to such a positive attitude this being the third time I had to be taught to walk again coming out of a coma. I have been in more than one rehabilitation program as well as extended stays in five different hospitals. Many of these places I would not go back to.
Never in my life have I ever been treated and cared for with such consideration and dedication to my recovery and personal goal achievements. One of the most impressive things about Burien Nursing and Rehab is that my self respect and dignity were very important to the people that work there. By the end of my stay I felt like I was a member of a large family of friends that have touched my heart in more ways than they will ever know.
The Physical and Occupational therapy program was staffed with by far the most educational and productive people it has ever been my good fortune to work with. There is a miracle going on in that gym and all you have to do is show up for it.
I had a lot of fun with the activities department and it really impressed me how they work so hard to make our stay there as enjoyable as possible. They make a hard situation bearable and their good deeds I hope some day will be rewarded.
I can’t say enough about the Nursing and Aid workers. Not only did they save my life when my oxygen levels dropped and I was transported back to the hospital. But some of the things they do just amaze me how they are always there to take care of the patients without question or complaint.
I honestly feel I am a better man for just knowing the people who dedicate their lives to others and I hope some day I can pass on what you and your band of “Miracle Workers” have done for me.
I have not mentioned individual names here because this letter would be a book if I did. My hope is that the board of directors never take these people for granted for what they do for others is a reflection on their leaders and the future of this company.
Thank you for giving me my life back and may you all do what you do for a long time to come.

I felt like I was treated better than being at home.  I loved the experience. Really good care from nursing, the aides spoiled me.  It was a place I was happy being in.  Any one who was on the staff was extremely helpful to me, and the rehab people were unbelievable, they made my recovery fun!  If I had to go back I would go to Burien, everything about it was fantastic!
